1.  The minimum length bowled will be 20 yards (18.28mtrs) and the maximum 40 yards (36.58mtrs). Players may request a measure before bowling the first wood of the end. As soon as the first wood is bowled no dispute is allowed. 

​

​

​2.  A Player to be allowed one throw of the jack, should the jack not be a mark the player be allowed a second throw, if this it is not a mark, his/her opponent shall be allowed one throw and so alternatively until a mark is established. Player first throwing the jack to bowl first.

 

​3. The mat may be moved up to 1 yard either side or forward of the last resting place of the jack and as far back as required.

 

​4.  One foot must be on or above the mat when delivering a wood.

 

​5.  That any player moving his/her wood or woods without the consent of their opponent, that wood or woods so moved not to count and that any player moving their opponents wood or woods, without consent, then that wood or woods to count.

 

​6.  That if a wood touches any obstacle on its course it shall be dead and re-bowled. On a green split by a dividing string, any wood touching that string on its way up the green shall be deemed dead and removed from the green, this also includes the wood surrounding the green.

 

​7.  That if a player bowls their opponents wood, where that wood comes to rest it shall be replaced with his/her own wood.

 

​8.  A dead end shall be deemed when the jack is off the green. In the case of a drawn measure the end to be recorded with no score and the end not re-bowled. The following end the player winning the end prior will bowl the jack.

 

​9.  Any mobile phones activated on the green will result in that player forfeiting their game 15 – 0.

 

​10.  League matches shall consist of, Saturdays 6 singles and 3 doubles and Sunday 6 singles and 2 doubles. All games 15 up. No player to bowl in more than 1 single and/or 1 double. Where a player is unable to complete a game due to unforeseen circumstances a substitute will be allowed, subject to the previous stipulation. The substitute will continue the game at the point the substitution is made, i.e. the number of ends bowled and the score will remain as per the card. Where the substitution takes place before the completion of an end, that end shall be restarted. Where a substitute is not allowed or agreed the match card will be the score at that point in the game.

 

​11. Matches will start on Saturday 5:30pm and Sunday 10:30am. No practice will be allowed by either team on match green within 2 hours of scheduled start.

 

​12. Two games to commence within 15 minutes of scheduled start, being played together where applicable.

 

​13.  That if no players are available after 15 minutes vacant green all remaining games will be forfeited 15 – 0 as applicable.

 

​14.  Teams failing to turn up for a scheduled fixture will be fined by the league Saturday £1.00 per player, (£6.00 per team) and Sunday £1.00 per player (£6.00 per team) and deducted 2 points. Teams turning up for a match and there are no opponents will be awarded 2 points and the average winning shots in that division on that day.

 

​15.  A team may apply to the secretary to postpone a match fixture, provided the Secretary receives the application in writing or by phone call or in person 7 days prior to the fixture date and a new date of said fixture to be agreed by both captains and to be played within 4 WEEKS OF THE SCHEDULED DATE as per rule 19.

 

​16. That matches be played as per fixture list. Cup competitions being given preference.

 

​17. In an abandoned match where two or more games have been completed, then for the re-arranged fixture, these games shall stand, but the remaining games to be redrawn.

 

​18. All cancelled matches to be played within 2 weeks of the final fixture date.

 

​19. Rearranged matches to be played within 4 weeks of the scheduled date. All matches to be played within 2 weeks of the final date.

 

​20.  Each Player will be registered from the first time they bowl for that team in each season. Deadline for signing players is 30th June.

 

​21. A player will only 1 transfer per season and only after the delegates have given approval.

 

​22. Results of matches to be decided on an aggregated score with2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

 

​23. Match result cards to be received by the Secretary from the home team by 5:30pm on the Wednesday following the match, this includes cup matches. Any team failing to do so will be fined £1.00.

Please send a photo of the result card to the phone number or email address shown on the result card supplied as soon as possible after the match. Original deadlines still apply.

 

​24. That all disputes during the match to be settled by the 2 captains. If no agreement can be reached the dispute will go before the delegates.

 

​25. The maximum number of games postponed will be 3 per team.

 

​26. That if a team resigns from the league for any reason, all points and shots will be deducted from the other teams in that division.

 

​27. All monies owing to the league must be paid on or before the A.G.M. No team owing monies to the league will be allowed into the league.

 

​28. That any player that has played in a cup competition and transfers to another team or from a team that resigns from the league will be cup tied for that season.

 

​29. In cup games on a neutral green each team to provide 1 jack & mat.

 

​30. Teams will only be allowed to enter cup competitions if their green is available to use for cup matches from the start of the season. 

 

​TEAM CUP AND TROPHY COMPETITIONS

All previous rules to apply unless altered by any of the following

 

​31.  Team competitions to be played on neutral greens.

 

​32.  The first team out in the draw will have order in preference of play  with a minimum of 2 games being started within 15 minutes of the scheduled start,  with the winning team to forward the match result card to the Secretary by 5;30pm on the Wednesday following the match.

 

​33.  All players must have played in 2 league games in the first half of the season prior to playing in the final and must be registered league bowlers.

 

​34.  Saturday cup to be played 6 singles and 3 doubles, all games to be played 15 up including the final. Sunday Cup to be played 6 singles and 2 doubles, all games to be  played 15 up including the final. If the match is tied an extra end to be bowled, jack to be bowled by the team winning the previous end.

 

​35.  Any team failing to turn up to a scheduled cup or trophy fixture will be disqualified and no trophies will be awarded to that team.

 

​36.  Cup games must be played on the scheduled date and may not be cancelled by either side. The game may only be cancelled due to external circumstances i.e. Weather and/or state of the venue. Where a cancellation has been permitted it must be played at the same venue before the next round. Teams who fail to field a team will forfeit the game.

​

37.  Meeting attendance, one delegate from each club is now allowed, i.e. if there are three teams playing from one club, it is accepted that one delegate from any of the teams attend.
